An Apron for Gretel

So, my daughter’s school has a themed Christmas party at the end of last month. The theme, we were told was “Hansel and Gretel”. The kids were supposed to dress up according to the theme, there was a gingerbread house and it was a complete fairy tale experience! After doing some research on the story, characters and appropriate costumes for kids, I settled on Gretel (it seemed to be the easiest). Reusing a pinafore dress she already had, I had the idea for a kinda-sorta Gretel who was also year end sales closing friendly 😀

After a little procrastination, I decided to use up a leftover gingham fabric from my stash and whip up an apron to go on top of her skirt. It was easy enough and I woke up early on 2 weekdays to get it ready. The entire process took about 2 hours and voila! We had a Gretel ready on the day of the event. Out of the 29 photos I took on the fateful morning, I managed to have one which wasn’t blurred! The kids had fun at the party and I had fun creating a the little apron.
